How To Install Ikea Kitchen Cabinet Cover Panels. A cover panel of the same finish conceals the birch or white frame and makes the kitchen colour uniform. Best Online Cabinets shows you a quick video on installing toe kicks (the bottom baseboard) and skin panels (the custom exterior panels) on kitchen cabinets.
Cover panels are a must when designing with IKEA cabinets. Cover panels go on exposed ends of cabinets (so you can't see the metal rail they hang on) or, in our case, we used some large cover panels to create a box around the fridges at the duplex. Ignore the weird ceiling overspray in the photo above, we were trying to patch up where the pantry used to be (the cabinets will cover most of that spot anyways!).
All the cabinets we're using in this kitchen are from IKEA and will have the off-white GRIMSLÖV doors.
Place the newly cut edge of the filler piece against the wall (it should fit perfectly).
Because neither of our walls are straight I had some trouble installing the wine unit in the corner. Cover panels match the door finish and are attached to the side of the cabinet box so everything appears seamless. Clamp the cover panel in place using a quick clamp.
